SMALL BUSINESS MISTAKES YOU HAVE TO AVOID
One of the common bonds that holds all human beings together is that we are not infallible. That is we are not perfect, we all make mistakes. Sometime those mistakes are as simple as looking your keys inside the car, but then there are those mistakes that we consider big ones. The ones that have negative consequences that can lead us to embarrassment and frustration.

You know, those mistakes that make you wish you never got out of bed, or the ones that you know will cause hurt and pain to those you care about the most. We could go on and on talking about our mistakes, but that is not the point of this discussion. We want to focus on what to do after the mistake has already reared its ugly head.

The first step in dealing with the mistake or mistakes you may have made is to jut own flat out own it. Owning it means to acknowledge it, accept it, and take complete responsibility for it. Now the odds are like many people who have made mistakes, you may find this first step very difficult.
This is usually do to the fact that since we were children we have always done one of three things – run and hide from our mistakes, blame others for our mistakes, or make excuses for them.

But if you desire to be a person of real success and character you will need to change this mindset and realize that successful people don’t run and hide, they don’t blame others for their mistakes, and they don’t make excuses.

The second step in dealing with your mistake is to get in front of it. Ironically the biggest mistake that many people make is to allow their mistakes to become larger than life by trying to stay silent about them, or simply just hoping that they will go away. This is can be dangerous, depending on the seriousness of your mistake and how widespread the fallout of it could be.

If the mistake you’ve made has the ability to truly hurt your loved ones, your career, your company, etc then you need to take the lead. Call a meeting, have a heart to heart conversation with those involved, share what you’ve done, and what the ramifications are.

One of the worst things you can do is allow those affected by your misdoings to find out about it from someone other than you.

Once you have owned your mistake and gotten in front of it, the next step in your journey is simply to pick up the pieces and try to move forward. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well guess what, it’s not!

Moving beyond a mistake is often the single most difficult thing for us to do. We spend hours and hours dwelling upon or mistakes, beating ourselves up, and wallowing in self pity. Successful people know that real success is being able to pick yourself up and dust yourself off after a fall.
Smart entrepreneurs are the ones who take the time to educate themselves on both the risks and rewards of opening their own business.
